Computer Repair and Upgrades
At Lifetime Computer Solutions we repair Out of Warranty or damaged laptops and desktops. Some of the more common issues we see are power-related issues, broken LCD Panels, failing Hard Drives, faulty RAM, bad cables, and faulty video cards. We can perform software upgrades and troubleshooting on all Windows Operating systems. If things seem to be running a bit slower or applications aren’t running properly then you may be in need of software support in the form of a Tune-up.
Computer Upgrades
There are 2 types of computer upgrades. Hardware Upgrades and Software Upgrades. One good reason for upgrading a computer is that it’s a simple way to extend the life of it.
Hardware Upgrades:
Hardware Upgrades for your computer may include a Hard Drive, RAM or Video Card. You may ask, why do I need to upgrade? Consider this, when you bought your computer three years ago it was all you would ever need. Now your Hard Drive is packed full of CAD drawings, documents, pictures, music, and TV shows from the iTunes Music Store and you don’t have any room to save anything else. What do you do? At Lifetime Computer Solutions we can swap that smaller hard drive out for a larger hard drive and transfer all the data from your original hard drive to the new one. That’s just one situation that we see.
Software Upgrades:
Sometimes your software is out of date and needs to be upgraded. This allows the Software to be more stable or compatible with a specific version of the Operating System. We can tell you what software upgrades we recommend based on our experience. Let us take the thinking out of it for you so that you can focus on doing the fun stuff.
Data Recovery Services
Data Recovery is the process of attempting to retrieve data from a failing Hard Drive. How does a hard drive fail? They fail for lots of reasons. Sometimes computers are dropped which causes a mechanical failure of the drive. Hard Drives themselves are very small compact devices with lots of moving parts and are prone to failure by nature. Customers sometimes fill their Hard Drive up with so much information that the system tends to forget where the files are stored. These are all typical scenarios for Data Recovery Services. Sometimes, given the right amount of luck and patience, we are able to retrieve data from a failing Hard Drive by using special software that scans each little piece of the drive looking for data. These scans can take anywhere from 24 hours to 48 hours. There are times when we know right away just from the sound of the drive that we aren’t going to get any data. The best thing to do if you think you may have a failing Hard Drive is to stop using it immediately and Contact Us for the best option for recovery.
Remote Support
Remote Support, simply put, will allow us to fix basic problems for our customers without us having to go out on-site. Using Remote Desktop Technology makes it possible for a technician to log into a customer’s computer and take control allowing them to then troubleshoot basic issues a customer may be having. Some issues can’t be fixed with Remote Support and will require an On-Site visit. But, for simple issues such as Email configuration or basic software issues, Remote Support is the way to go. Pricing on Remote Support runs $30 per half hour. Contact Us to set up your Remote Support session.
